“Gideon (he that cuts down)” by Justin Pearson

Gideon (he that cuts down)

Gideon in Hebrew means “he that cuts down.” A man who thought of himself as inadequate and insignificant. That was his honest assessment of himself. Gideon said my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house. But Jehovah God spoke to the warrior in him instead of the wimp in him. The angel of the Lord said, “the Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour!” Gideon cast down the altar of Baal and cut down the grove by it. I would rather please God and offend the world rather than offend God and please the world! Be strong and courageous rather than milquetoast and wimpy! You are a mighty man of valour!

Best,

Justin
